Irish Hotel Awards
It was another very successful trip to the Irish Hotel Awards for the Connacht Group with HYDE Hotel and the Connacht Hotel returning from the ceremony in Johnstown Estate with a number of prestigious awards coming West. HYDE Hotel was named Irelands Best Boutique Hotel, with the Connacht Hotel being named the Best Family Hotel in Connacht. It was a wonderful night recognising the great work of the teams on a daily basis in each hotel and these awards are truly down to the people who make the group what it is.
Macnas
Connacht Hospitality Group lead by M Fitzgerald’s are so proud of our partnership with Macnas – Spectacle Theatre Company. At Connacht Hospitality, we believe in the power of art and community, and Macnas brings creativity and storytelling to life right here in Galway.
In the build up to this years spectacle the team at M Fitzgerald’s were invited to a very special behind the scenes visit to the Macnas workshop where they got a look at the creative process and the work involved in creating the magic that Macnas is famous for. M Fitzgerald’s was also the home of the parade viewing party. Through partnerships like these, we’re reminded of the importance of supporting local talent and creativity that makes our city vibrant and inspiring.

Coffee and Crafts
This month saw a number of our very popular Coffee and Crafts events. Coffee and Crafts was part of the Galway City Council Café Lates Pilot Scheme, funded by Galway City Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. This initiative aims to build on Galway’s thriving night-time economy by fostering a vibrant and diverse late-night café culture. October saw two sell out workshops which taught attendees how to make Autumnal Wreaths and the art of embroidery, the very popular classes have continued throughout the winter months.
