Accommodation staff are the unsung heroes of the hospitality industry. A hotel is only as good as the team that it has working in it and to ensure that when guest check in that they get the best experience one of the most important functions within and hotel is the Accommodation team.

The role is vital and is it great to see this hard-working department recognised for the superb work that they do. And the Connacht Hotel accommodation team have recently received Gold in the IASI awards for the third year in a row.
The Irish Accommodation Services Institute is a national body representing the professional interests of the accommodation industry in Ireland. The IASI promote Best Practice Standards of excellence and provides a forum for all of its members to network, meet and avail of an excellent suite of training and development programmes throughout the year.
Over 320 accommodation managers and assistants, hospitality leaders and suppliers attended the gala event, which followed the IASI’s Annual Conference. Delegates at the conference were addressed by Kate O Donoghue who spoke brilliantly about “Raising our Resilience”. The guest of honour at the black-tie event was Mary O Rourke the former politician spoke passionately about growing up in the heart of the hospitality industry.
Congratulations to the accommodation team at the Connacht Hotel who’s enthusiasm and attention to detail has won them this prestigious accolade for another year.
