The Connacht Hospitality Group continued their wonderful year-long Corporate Social Responsibility initiative with an extremely successful Golf Classic in the Galway Bay Golf Resort this week.

More than thirty teams took part on the day, enjoying glorious scenery and beautiful weather on one of the top courses in Ireland. The golf classic event was hosted in aid of Galway Hospice, one of CHG’s four chosen charities for the group fundraising initiatives.

Teams from around the country battled to win a host of amazing prizes, whilst also raising over €22,000 for the charity. Later in the evening participants were rewarded with a top-class Gala dinner at Galway Bay Golf Resort Clubhouse, alongside breath-taking views of Galway Bay.

Galway Hospice’s Director of Fundraising & Communications, Charlene Hurley spoke eloquently about the work of the hospice, and the impact of the funds raised. She finished by sharing with attendees more detail about where these much-needed funds will be directed, showcasing the wonderful work of the charity and its teams.

Event organiser and Connacht Hospitality Group Financial Controller, Brian Lynch spoke of the importance of giving back. He encouraged all participants to return to their organisations and consider how they can best integrate new corporate social responsibility practices into their daily business. Highlighting that ultimately work such as this benefits every stakeholder in the business and brings a new perspective to the way we do business.
