Peter has overseen significant investment in several Capital Expenditure Projects over the last number of years, to ensure our properties are well positioned to compete. The environmental element of our businesses is important to Peter and he is very supportive of the Green Teams, which ensures commitment to the implementation of green policies and sustainable measures. |

Paul brings the same blend and wealth of experience across a variety of industries. He displays his skills and experience very effectively through his design and completion of projects for Connacht Hospitality Group by the Greenway Properties team. The recent refurbishment of The Connacht Hotel, The Residence Hotel & Hyde Bar are great examples of his understanding of emerging trends within the hospitality industry. Paul provides the impetus for innovation within the company. |
Director, Group Facilities & Risk Management: John Carmody |
John has over 40 years’ experience in Construction and Hospitality industries and holds the position of company director along with the Fitzgerald family. His in-depth knowledge of our facilities and operations proves invaluable to the leadership team across all businesses. John ensures that the company complies with all legislative and H&S requirements. John oversees the research and Management of Capital Expenditure Projects ensuring they are completed within timelines and on budget. |
Group Operations Director: Wayne Neilon |
Wayne has 30 years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry and joined the Connacht Hospitality Group in February 2017. Has worked in several General Manager roles for Pillo hotels (acquired by Dalata Hotel Group in 2014) and Dalata Hotel Group. Wayne completed a Strategic Management & Executive Management program from 2009 – 2010 with Failte Ireland and Cornell University. Hotel & Tourism Representative on recently appointed Galway Tourism Recovery Task Force chaired by Failte Ireland and Galway City Council. |
Group Finance Director: Brian Lynch |
A graduate of NUIG and a fellow of the ACCA with over 25 years’ experience across Hospitality, Banking, Construction and Motor sectors. Brian is with the group since December 2017 and has over 13 years’ experience in senior finance roles within the Hospitality Sector and is a member of the Timoney Leadership Institute. |
Group Human Resources Manager: Jacqueline O’ Dowd |
Jacqueline has extensive professional experience in Human Resources across Multinational, indigenous and Hospitality businesses over the last 20 years. Jacqueline holds a Masters in HR Strategic Management, BA Degree in Business and Personal Management and Diploma in Training and Development. Jacqueline holds the office of Chairperson of the Galway Executive Skillnet Steering Committee and is also Chartered Member of the CIPD and is an expert in her field. |
Group Commercial Manager: Eveanna Ryan |
Eveanna brings with her over 20 years’ experience within the hospitality and tourism industry working in both nationally and internationally. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a diploma in strategic management. Eveanna sits on the board of the Galway Convention Bureau and the council for the Galway Chamber and was recently awarded “Sales and Marketing Manager of the year” by the Irish Hospitality institute. |
Group Operations Manager: Conor Moloney |
Conor joined the Leadership Team in 2023 after successfully holding a number of General Manager positions within the Connacht Hospitality Group dating back to 2017. Conor graduated from ATU with an Honours Degree in Business and Accounting in 2011, and in 2023 he completed the Lismullin Leadership Program. He brings over 15 years of experience working in hotels, bars, and restaurants on both sides of the Atlantic, and is a ‘Bar Manager of the Year’ winner at the Bar of the Year Awards. |
Group IT Manager: Alan Rooney |
Alan brings a distinguished combination of technical expertise and strategic vision to his role as Group IT Manager at Connacht Hospitality. With a BSc in Software Engineering from ATU, he has applied his skills to drive operational efficiencies and digital transformation. Alan’s career began with the successful launch of his own company at just 21, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence. Since joining Connacht in 2014, he has played a pivotal role in advancing the group’s technological capabilities, enhancing both guest experiences and operational effectiveness across the group. |
Group Financial Accountant: Matthew Lohan |
A graduate of NUIG and ACCA member with significant audit experience, having spent several years working in a top 10 practice with a substantial focus on the retail and hospitality sectors. Special interest in Internal control and financial reporting. Matthew is with the group since June 2017 and has a keen interest in people development. |
Group Maintenance Manager: Shane Walsh |
Shane joined Connacht Hospitality Group in October 2017. A qualified Quantity Surveyor with a Master’s in Facilities Management, Shane has overseen numerous renovations and ensures seamless building infrastructure operations. His expertise and attention to detail are key to upholding the group’s high standards and ensuring smooth business operations. |
