Alongside a number of businesses based in the vicinity of Eyre Square, the Connacht Hospitality Group took part in the Eyre Square Tidy Towns Clean-up towards the end of May.
Clean-up, Clean-up…
On Tuesday, May 30th, a number of establishments from across Galway city came together to take part in a clean-up of Eyre Square in the heart of Galway city.
The Tidy Towns clean-up took place from 9 am to 12 pm, with an initial meeting at O’ Connell’s bar – and the invite was extended to any and all businesses in the local area.
Community Comes Together
A number of representatives from the Connacht Hospitality Group (CHG) played their part in keeping our city-centre landmark clean, tidy, and presentable.
Thousands of people pass through Eyre Square every day, especially during the summer peak months, so it was fantastic to help play our part in giving it a refreshed look.
Staff from The Connacht Hotel, An Púcán, and HYDE Hotel were just some of the CHG employees who lent a helping hand in the Eyre Square Tidy Towns Clean-up.
Thankfully, the weather was in a co-operative mood on the day as the sun shone brightly to add to the jovial mood felt around the square throughout the morning.
Fantastic Turnout
There was a fantastic turnout for the community get-together as lots of businesses from the area took time out of their mornings to contribute to the Eyre Square clean-up.
The Dean Hotel, Murty Rabbitts, The Skeff, the Hardiman Hotel, The Galmont, Darcy’s Bar, Harry’s, and the Ol’ 55 were some of our fellow hospitality sector staff who rolled up their sleeves to get involved.
Plus, Aran Island Ferries, Citylink, Lally Tours, Kinlay Hostel, Bank of Ireland, and the Eyre Square Shopping Centre also had representatives in attendance.
Undoubtedly, the Eyre Square Tidy Towns Clean-up was a heartening example of the idea that many hands can really make light work of any situation.
The Connacht Hospitality Group are dedicated to playing our part in causes like these whenever we can – we believe it’s important to give back however possible and we’re delighted to continue contributing, whether it’s through community-led activities like the Eyre Square Tidy Towns Clean-up, fundraising initiatives, or awareness campaigns.
